Thai Yoga Massage

Thai yoga massage is different to most other forms of massage. The treatment is carried out on a comfortable floor mat and you remain fully clothed throughout. It is applied using hands, feet, forearms and elbows in a flowing series of moves to help free the tension trapped within the body. Energy lines, acupressure points, muscles, ligaments and joints are stretched and opened, stimulating flow and encouraging more freedom of movement.

Although the massage is very physical, the overall objective is to bring balance and harmony to the “energetic” body and mind of the receiver as well as the physical body. It is usually given in silence, allowing me to tune in fully to your needs.

Often called ‘yoga for lazy people’, Thai massage is the ultimate lazy way of getting all the benefits of yoga and more without having to do it yourself.

Treatments

Treatments can last from 1 hour to 2 hours. Each session is different and is specifically designed for you.

There are four main positions: lying on your back, on your front, on your side, or sitting up. A one-hour treatment usually combines two or three of these positions, depending on your preferences and requirements. A full 1.5 hour or 2 hour treatment will combine all four positions.

The treatment begins at the feet and works up through the body, finishing with the shoulders, neck and head. This follows the flow of energy through the body, ensuring that every part of your body can be fully stretched to its maximum and benefits from the openness it brings.

The massage is given in silence and can either be a wonderful opportunity to switch off or used as a form of meditation.

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing (e.g. jogging bottoms/leggings and T-shirt).
